Although I have a lot of free time, I’m finding it difficult to fit everything that I want to do into my day. For example - going to work, unwinding watching TV, reading a physical book, drawing drawing and more drawing, blogging and freaking exercise. Sooo, I’m becoming a serious multitasker. While watching TV I’m constantly working on my lettering and just small doodles which I can later digitise on my iPad Pro. Nothing fancy AT ALL to show but here are a couple of bits n' pieces I’ve been working on & I'm sure I'll show you more once I improve at a later date. Was delighted with how my Chinese lantern, red pockets and new Oliver Bonas mugs turned out!


So there's just a little update as to what I've been up to. I want to make my blog way more personal now as I think I'll be more likely to keep up with it. Oh, and since writing the bulk of this post, we attended my brother's wedding and had the most magical weekend in an apartment by the sea, then in a castle where the ceremony took place. It was a super emotional few days and I'm honestly quite sad now it's now all over. I'm definitely the kind of person who needs a lot of family time to recharge butttt I guess that's okay because we've got a a lot planned throughout the upcoming year that I am living for and will be sure to blog about. As you may have seen in my last post, Adam and I decked our (new) halls with pumpkin lights and skeleton candles quite early on in the month and the following weekend, we managed to get our hands on some Halloween cupcakes from J-bird. They came in toffee apple, chocolate orange, s'mores and not only were they deeeelicious, (possibly the best cupcakes I'd ever eaten) they even looked the part. The webbed icing, the burnt effect of the meringue, the hard toffee shard, and of course my personal favourite, the green alien from Toy Story, they were suchhhh a great Halloween assortment.

A week later, my mum came to visit and we really got our spook on with some pumpkin carving. Usually, we'd just get one pumpkin, someone would scoop out the insides and I'd end up carving Jack Skellington's face into it and this had somehow turned into an unspoken annual tradition. This year however, we got a whole freaking family of pumpkins; small medium and large and we each totally free styled them. I'd been using Jack's face as a template for so many years now that it was time try something different and just have fun with it, so I ended up giving my pumpkin some evil eyes and monster teeth. 

This weekend, we went to the Belfast Halloween Fireworks for the first time. I always seem to underestimate how exciting seeing fireworks are - usually I'm like -yep seen 'em a million times before- but when I'm actually watching them, it's always super magical. I mean, the fireworks were in no way Halloween-y or anything (although we did see some dude wearing an actual pumpkin on his head and I can't get over why he would put himself through that) but it was the perfect way to close the month. 

It was definitely the best October I've had in years, I think we managed to pack every weekend with something Halloween themed which is exactly what I'd hoped for. Now that university and all of that education is over, I feel like I can finally start doing things the way I want to and so far, it's been great. Hope you all have the Happiest Halloween! 

I've always felt like Valentines Day was just this unnecessary and commercialised holiday. It's like one day of the year to buy your partners love with overpriced roses, fancy chocolates and ridiculously expensive presents and all just a short while after Christmas.

But after being in a long distance relationship for almost 3 years, I get it. Valentines weekend is now special for Adam and I. It's the perfect reason to spend time together and just have one solid weekend dedicated solely to ourselves. 

It's also a massive excuse to eat whatever we want. But that's ok, because eating crap is always better when you're with someone, and for some reason you don't feel as guilty. Probably because you're both getting fat together. 

We had our official romantic evening meal on the 13th because it was a Saturday. We booked a table in a Thai restaurant called SABA. Both Adam and I had surprisingly never tried Thai food before so this was the perfect opportunity. We ordered 2 starters to share and a main each, all of which were delicious. Great customer service was also sustained from booking our reservation to leaving the restaurant. We were delighted that we chose food we know we'd like rather than going to an Italian restaurant where we'd end up ordering pasta and it would come out on a tiny saucer but still cost a bomb.  

We finished our dinner with some handmade ice cream from Dingle in Murphy's. I love how they stay open so late, because some winter nights all you want is ice cream. 


We persisted through the weekend, shopping, watching movies and eating all the crap you can imagine. From restaurants, takeaways and ready meals to melted chocolate and strawberries with wine, I think we did ourselves justice.

I strengthened my core in January with Pilates. Following blogilates videos from beginner to pro over the first few months of 2015 gave me a more positive view of exercise, that it didn't have to be crazy sweating just to lose weight.

It shouldn't just be for vanity, It's a lifestyle, it makes you FEEL good as well as look good. It means you can eat that bar of chocolate (or 10) and not feel like poo.

I realised that running didn't have to involve puking my guts up. Although I can barely manage 3k, I proved to myself that if I ever need to, I can run.

I've always been pretty weak, even with Pilates, my arms never really toned up, and although they're not exactly toned, I've noticed that I can actually lift things without struggling sometimes, which is a really good feeling.

Through swimming I discovered muscle in places I didn't know was possible.Swimming has been my favourite, I feel as strong as I did with Pilates and it's not as high impact on my joints as running.

A lot of people say it's off putting not being able to do much. But after going twice a week for 3 months, I've definitely built up my stamina and I feel stronger than ever.

Although I chose my course when I was 17, I never really knew what it was exactly that made me want to get up in the morning. I chose multimedia because it's probably one of the broadest and action packed courses.

After secondary school I knew studying just wasn't for me anymore and although I was decent enough at academic work, I much preferred building, creating and making, but deciding what creative field to pursue was a tough one, so "multimedia" sounded like a good choice.

After a photography and graphic design module I realised I was in the right course. I've always been creative and the school I attended which didn't provide art or music really inhibited my creative growth. It's only now, half way through my degree that I'm beginning to feel "creative" and original enough for the industry.

I got braces

I had never been the slightest bit happy with my teeth, but after 4 extractions and having braces for just 4 months has really changed a lot.

I don't mind smiling for photos anymore and I don't feel as if I look about 12 anymore. (Even with the braces) I can't get over the results and how much it's helped my confidence. It's strange how something so small can make such a big difference.

I don't have any New Years resolutions for 2016. I suppose the aim of 2016 for me is to stress less. :)
